YOU-Wonderful you
If you are currently making the round of job interviews, I bet you have come up with some fairly positive words to describe yourself and your work habits on your resume.
But if you were asked to stand in front of a group and talk about yourself what would you say?
Last January I put together an application to speak at the annual Equine Affaire in W. Springfield, Ma. This is a four day event and has thousands of attendees from all over New England.
Most of the seminar presenters have a book and/or DVD's which they are also selling at their booth space.
Since I don't have my book quite published yet, I decided I needed to sound as good as possible on my application write-up.
They ended up hiring me for all three of the subjects I applied for.
What I did not realize was that when I went to give each of my three seminar presentations at the event, the very words that I wrote were read to the group by the moderator as I took the stage.
I had no idea that they would do that!!
Part of what I had written was:
"I am an energetic, enthusiastic, and a charismatic speaker!"
After the event I began to mull over what others would say about themselves to a group. I have also since used this in positive thinking workshops.
Do you associate yourself with the adjectives that you want to portray?
Or do you put yourself down for the things that you haven't yet done and want to do?
What I have learned is that you must associate your sense of self with what you want to be-even if you're not quite there yet.
Your thoughts have power- use it to your advantage!

Angels and Demons III (?)
You see, just going into someone's space didn't cause any kind of energetic reaction in me. However, as soon as I evoked "the name and the blood of Jesus", I felt the demon. I am not sure to be truthful, whether I was feeling angel or demon energy. I have to rely on the Holy Spirit's guidance, and I am getting stronger at sensing and knowing what I am feeling.
I also began to quote certain scripture verses in their rooms. One day, even though I know the verse by heart, I decided to pick up Rich's bible (yes, he does have one!). I sensed that "something" didn't want me to pick up that bible! I know that would never come from God-so I picked up the Bible and read from it. Sure enough, I got goosebumps as I felt demon energy move around me.
I have learned that as a believer in Jesus Christ, I have the power of "the name and the blood"to drive out demons. I know from Bob Larson(www.boblarson.org) that the person with the demon must want to be delivered, and right now my children don't want any help thank-you!
As I thought about this last year (when I started this offensive praying), I decided that since it IS MY HOUSE, that my prayers certainly couldn't hurt. And boy was I right!!
God has blessed me and my family!
I pray in their rooms almost every time I go upstairs. Quick prayers most times.
The verses I use most often-Jer. 29:11, 1Joh. 4:4, Phil. 1:6. When we quote God's word back to Him over our children, help comes to us.
The problem with us humans is that we want everything yesterday. We can't see the battle in "the heavenlies" so we think that nothing is happening and we give up. Satan wants us to give up!! Just when you feel like giving up-pray even more earnestly, you are getting close to a break thru.
Praise God for his help-even if you don't see anything happening-YET!
Have all my childrens' problems been solved? No, not yet. But I have seen amazing things happen (look for future post about Tom and the Navy).
One day, about a month ago, Rich started to get very aggressive with Bill. It was payday and since he works for his dad he was agruing about the number of hours he put in. He has been violent in the past. He started screaming and got right into Bill's face.
I was afraid and thought I might have to call the police, as I have done before.
What I did instead was spiritual warfare!
Right out loud I commanded Satan, in the name and the blood of Jesus to get away from him with that spirit of violence and aggression. I raised my right hand in the air, as I do sometimes when praising God.
Rich looked at me strangly, backed down and went upstairs!
I wish I had understood this kind of praying years ago. My family needed it so badly.
Books I recommend:
"Take it By Force", Judy Jacobs
"Pigs in the Parlor", Ida Mae Hammond
"Demons and Deliverance", Ida Mae and Frank Hammond

Angels and Demons (?)-Part II
In Sep. of 2007, I met an older woman named Norma. Norma has lived in several other parts of the country, and most recently the mid-west. At the time we met, I was reading a book about demons and spiritual warfare (a list of recommended books will follow at the end of this series of posts). As she and I talked one day we began to talk about demons, and deliverance (another word for exorcism). As it turned out, Norma had been through deliverance in a group setting years ago, when she lived in Ohio. As she explained to me, she could sense that she felt different when she left the deliverance weekend. She had even been suicidal twice, before experiencing demon relief.
We become fast friends, and I know God put her in my life to give me more understanding and common ground to discuss what I was learning. In the northeast where I live, you don't hear as much about demons, deliverance and spiritual warfare as you do in other areas of the country. That made her friendship all the more important to me.
Once I began to understand demons-what they are and what they do, my next question was-
"Are demons causing some (if not all) of the problems that my children are experiencing?"
During the past few years, since I have been doing animal communications, I have become sensitive to energy moving around me (see previous post).
Now I was beginning to wonder if I would be able to feel the demon presence in my boys' rooms.
I walked into Rich's room and felt nothing. Brian and Tom's room, same thing.
Then, I used the spiritual warfare wording that I read in my book while I was standing in Richard's room.
All the hair on my body stood on end!

Angels and Demons (?)-Part 1
If you were to poll one hundred people and ask them if they believe in angels, 95% would most likely say that they did. But if you took those same people and asked if they believed in demons
I am not sure what the response would be.
Purely from a scientific angle, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Demons would be those opposite of angels and therefore must exist.
The Bible is very clear, and demons are mentioned numerous times. Or did the demons mentioned in the Bible disappear in the time between when the Bible was written and now?
Eph. 2:2 calls Satan "the Prince of the air", "whose spirit is at work in those who are disobiedient".
Demons are the minions of Satan, just as angels are the helpers of God.
If you do NOT believe that they exist, how can you be on your guard against them?
This is Satan's greatest weapon! Unless we know that he exists and how he operates, how can we guard ourselves against him?
Pastor Bob Larson is a modern day exorcist. Check out his website www.boblarson.org
Just before halloween he did some exorcisms for the Sci Fi channel, which I watched.
I would say without a doubt, it would be hard to fake the things that I say in those four exorcisms.
In the years leading up to the capture of the BTK killer Dennis Rader, he wrote a taunting letter and mailed it to the police. Part of what he wrote was "I have a monster inside of me". I know that he did(does)have a monster inside of him. Voices in his head telling him what to do-those are DEMONS.
How do you know what thoughts are of God and what are from demon influence?
An easy way to tell is this-
Is it a loving, positive thought?
Or is it something that will hurt another person?
Galations 5:22-23, gives us the guidelines for the "fruit of the spirit".
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (NIV)
God is a god of love, light and forgiveness.
Satan is full of hate, darkness and revenge.
Balance your thoughts with this barometer to see where they are coming from.

Love, Without Conditions
When we think about what it means to love someone, we usually think happy, positive thoughts. But love in its purist form is not that way. The love that the Bible speaks about, is love even when someone doesn't treat you kindly in return. Love, even when you are despised and hated. The love that God has for us now, and the love Jesus had for those that crucified him.
Years ago, in the midst of some difficult years with the boys, I can remember thinking to myself "I hate these kids!". Truth be told, I meant it at the time.
Over the past several years, as I have learned more about positive thinking and my walk with God has grown closer, that statement has changed to "Thank-you God for bringing me three healthy children".
Sometimes things are happening in our lives that are not pleasant. But we need to find some good and be thankful for that.
We need to thank and praise God for the things He has done, and wait upon Him to change what needs changing.
We need to Love our children, even when their behaviors and attitudes need changing.
A year ago Mother's Day, not one of the children gave me a card. A friend asked me "Aren't you upset?"
"No", I replied, "life is about more than a card".
And it is about more than a card. It is about my attitude in the situation. I can't change the circumstances, but I can change how I deal with it.
I had a lot of anger towards Rich over the years, for some of the things he has done to me and this family. Last year came a turning point for me of letting go of the anger and beginning to love him, in spite of his behaviour. As yet, he hasn't changed the negative things he is doing. However, I can honestly say that now my eyes look upon him with love and hope for what could be.
The rest is in God's hands.

Dread the Doorbell
There was a time when we lived on Strawberry Lane, and the boys were younger, that we cringed when the doorbell rang. The doorbell would ring, Bill and I would look at each other and say "Who is it now?".
Let's face it, you become conditioned to feeling a certain way when so many incidents occurred and the complainee would come to the door to speak to us.
The doorbell would chime and my stomach- 3rd chakra, solar plexus, would tighten as I steeled myself up for the next crisis.
Whether it was a neighbor complaining about one of the boys, the police about one of the boys, a neighbor about the dog, the police about the dog, the cable man about the boys, the garbage truck driver about the boys, the painter (who was painting OUR house) about the boys, or the work crew repairing OUR deck about the dog and the boys, it involved someone coming the door.
Since we have been at our new home, everything has been better (future post about that). We have been here two and a half years. All the previous conditioning about the doorbell had eased until yesterday.
"Who was that at the door?", I asked Bill as he returned to the family room.
"That was the local pizza delivery man with two checks that Rich wrote for food for $70 that were returned".
The checks were from an account that he knew had nothing left in it, because I advanced him some money and the bank sent me a notice-I was out a couple hundred bucks!
To top it all off, he signed (the checks didn't have his name on them) the checks "Larry Tate"! Yeah, and I'm Samantha Stevens!!
I didn't even know he watched Bewitched!!@
Well, now what? We have bailed that kid out so many times, and still he hasn't learned enough to retain what he has learned for future actions.
We decided we will NOT pay the pizza store, if they take action against him he will have to figure it out on his own.
When Bill confronted him about the checks, he denied he did any such thing.
How can you help someone who is in denial?
You Love your child so much, but God gave each of us free will. Free will means just that-freedom to make choices, right or wrong. By the same token, those choices have consequences, and by accepting your freedom you accept those also.
I love him and will always love him, but that doesn't mean I love the things that he does sometimes. The Godly thing is to truly feel love for someone even when they do
wrong. Just as God loves each of us when we continue to do wrong-and we all do in some way or another.
Love is the greatest of these...

And Baby Makes 20!
This morning on the "Today Show" was the Duggar family They just had child number 18! They seem so happy and joyful. I have three and I sure as heck can't even fathom having more than that.
I will admit that my children are not your average kids and never were. One of Richard was equal to five normal children. Even my mother, who, anyone that knows her describes as a saint, I think believes that. Although, because of her nature very rarely says anything negative.
But she did tell me when he was three to "Be sure you send him to nursery school".
She would know, as she helped me out a lot when they were younger. Without her, I don't know how I would have managed. Certainly she helped us both stay sane.
Let's face it-how many kids do you know that throw eggs at their neighbor's car(while in the driveway), or throw empty pickle and condiment jars in the street in front of our house until a mound of glass is there?
Anyway, back to the family of 20. I couldn't help but wonder as I watched the segment, if the mother and father were really happy. Or was some of this for show?
I noticed that the father was holding up a book they had written (surprise!). Then the film crew showed how organized they were and even that Mrs. Duggar home schools the children.
Back in the days of Jesus, the mortality rate for children under five was 40%, so you can understand their need to have many children. But nowadays?
Never mind what having that many children does to the female body. I know what three did to mine!
Then Mrs. Duggar went on to say she had a C-sec. My last was a section. The nurse who took care of me had one also, and I will never forget she described it as feeling like"you got hit by a train". Very accurate.
Still Mrs. Duggar had not spoken and I was curious to assess if her words matched what her husband was saying. As someone who studies energy medicine, I know that the body doesn't lie. If we ignore it, it will make us sick until we can't ignore it anymore.
Then she spoke! Her voice was hoarse and I knew that she wasn't as happy as her husband made them both sound.
How did I know this? Because the voice/throat is part of the 5th chakra, center of self-expression, communication, and self-will. That hoarseness in her voice, told me that this area of her body in not healthy.
Is YOUR 5th chakra healthy?

Job 4:15
As an animal communicator and teacher, I am always sensitive to how I feel energy. When I first started to learn animal communication, I began to be aware that I felt a tingling sensation moving up and down from my feet to the floor. Everytime I asked other communcators if they felt the same thing, the answer was always "no". Then one day, in one of the books I read on the subject, the author said that she felt this same sensation.
Since that time, I have become even more sensitive to energy coming from animals and people. In one of the workshops I taught I got the sense that someone was there that didn't want to come that night. I voiced this to the group (always try to get verification), and no one said anything.
Then a woman piped up "I almost didn't feel like coming tonight".
I was surprised! I thought that that thought was coming from an animal.
I had a revelation during that class. That when I feel energy/thoughts, whether from people or animal they come in the same way to me.
Several years ago, I took my mother and sister to the Wayside Inn for lunch. It was my mother's birthday and she always loved this restaurant.
"Let's check out some of the other rooms", I suggested when we were done eating.
We walked down a narrow hallway and were just about to step down into a large room , with a kettle over a fire and a long narrow table.
Just at that point, all the hair on my body stood on end. I knew that I had encountered a ghost!
During lunch we had read that "The Wayside Inn" is on the national haunted houses register.
Suddenly I had an epihany! Those times when we get goosebumps (and we are NOT cold), we are encountering another's energy field.
After that experience, I discovered this Bible verse "A spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body stood on end" Job 4:15 (NIV)
Now when I get goosebumps I evaluate several things. Is it from the space I am in?,or is it something I said?
Is it angel or demon? -More on this in later posts.
Thoughts and feelings-people and animals, tend to come with a tingling sensation. Almost like a static electricty.
Other entities, come as goosebumps. As my energy field moves against a foreign one, it knows that the energy it is encountering is different.
What energy have you been sensing lately?

The gift I didn't ask for
Last night we saw Kenny Rogers Christmas Show at Mohegan Sun. I"m not sure he ever really had a good singing voice, but I thought back to how many times I wished I could sing.
As a child growing up in NJ, my sister Judy and I would play outside for hours. Sometimes (I have no idea why)I would scream at the top of my lungs. I guess just to see how loud I could be.
Let me tell you I have a powerful set of lungs. Hello God? My lung capacity would be perfect to go with a singing voice.
When I hear certain music, my soul and spirit merge and my eyes fill with tears of joy! Like Josh Groban singing "O Holy Night" or when I I hear "Amazing Grace".
I would so love to convey those feelings with song.
But I wasn't given that gift. You see the gifts each of us have, are something God gives to us. It isn't always what we want or ask for.
God didn't give me the gift of carrying a melody, but he gave me the gift of speaking. Speaking to groups of people. Speaking with passion, enthusiasm, and energy. Speaking to motivate others with hope and encouragement. Including the biblical principles I believe in and follow.
Does everyone have a gift?
Yes, I believe we do. Sometimes it is not easy to know what it is-it might be hidden under "lack of motivation", a sense of "worthlessness", or "lack of confidence". These are cloaks we wear that many times go back to our childhood and we take them on without even realizing with is happening. Out gifts get hidden under these "layers" that we must unwrap.
How do I know my gift?
Whatever your gift is makes you feel happy and light. When you are doing it, time flies by without you even realizing it. You want to do it all the time, even if it pays you nothing.
Your gift causes your energy to rise.
Isn't it time to unwrap your gift?

Never met a spa I didn't like!
My husband and I are on our way down to Mohegan Sun Casino for an overnight. I have to say that I was never excited about going to any casino before I was introduced to the spa.
You see Bill likes to play blackjack and shoot craps, I on the other hand have a hard time putting a quarter into a slot machine. About twelve years ago, while on vacation in St. Maartin I won $75 in a slot machine and immediately proceeded to cash out!
The very first time Bill and I went overnight to Foxwoods Casino, I spent several boring hours in the Keno parlor, while he spent hours at the tables. Not sure how many times I will be able to do this, is what I was thinking.
We were meeting another couple for dinner, at least that will get me out of the Keno parlor.
"Maureen your hair looks lovely", I commented as we met the C's for dinner.
"I have been at the spa all afternoon, having my hair and nails done".
That was all it took to get my attention. "Where is the spa ?"
I have been hooked eversince. Several of the staff at Foxwood Spa know me I have been there so much. I have tried almost all treatments on the menu. (I am nothing if not curious!)
Bill says to me now, it would cost him less to have me out on the floor gambling.
Only one treatment that I can honestly say I would never have again "the cocoon wrap" .
I was at Canyon Ranch in Lenox in Dec 2002 and decided to try it.
It sounds so wonderful, but for someone who tends towards low blood pressure-not a good idea!
A tub is filled half full with water. Then my body was lathered with a detox mud combo, wrapped in foil and a blanket ,over, but not in the tub.
"Helen, I am getting too hot", I called to the spa attentdant, who came over and partially unwrapped me.
"I will be right outside the shower door, if you need me", she let me know as she helped me in.
Well I needed her alright!
"Helen, I think I am getting faint!" I weakly called out, as I sat down on the shower bench. I have fainted before, and I know the feeling. The first time was in 9th grade gym class when I got hit in the finger with a basketball. Luckily for my head, the gym teacher caught me!
No more coccoons for me!
But the spa I will never give up!

Closet Space
My husband and I have separate closets. Aside from the obvious space benefits, there is another thing I have really enjoyed.
I use a certain shelf to arrange items that have meaning to me and that increase my energy.
Several years ago my best friend gave me a beautiful Christmas tree ornament. It is pink and orange with sparkles all over it. It is shaped like a heart and has a fushia bow as a hanger.
Not only was it lovely to look at, but I also noticed that when I looked at it it gave me a happy feeling (energy rising-more posts on that to come), a sense of renewal. Some days I need that more than others!
So I decided that I wanted it to look at it everyday, instead it only at Christmas time.
That was my first "closet space" item. To that I have added a photo of my sponsered child from World Vision. Her name is Resty. I always remember to pray for those that I SEE everyday, but Resty is far away and I have never met her, so I need to keep her image nearby.
Then my mother gave me a silver angel pin several years ago for a gift. (She knows how much help this family needs!) I don't like to wear pins, but the angel was so nice and it reminds me of angels watching over us, that it went to the closet. Each one of us has an angel assigned to us-see Acts 12:15).
Also, a gift bag and box from the jeweler whom I buy from. She has done several custom designs for me over the years.
Lastly. a blue mosiac 8x8 piece of a white horse. To me it looks like the horse of Alexander The Great. He was so attached to his horse, that the horse was buried with him. The blue tiles the color of the 5th chakra, and the white horse, the color of the 7th chakra.
These closet items help boost me when I need it. Some days more than others!

Do you WANT to be well?
My older sister Nancy is six years older than me and has bi-polar disorder. I was nine when she first got sick. I remember her doing odd things, like wanting to feed ice cream to the cat, and while baby sitting for neighbors, thinking they returned to the house and were spying on her.
She lives only about thirty min. away ,but I don't see her a lot. Sometimes, I really miss her-not who she is now, but who she used to be. When I would use her make-up (without asking), when she got her first car and she let me "test it" out on a side road.
The time her and I went to Lincoln Park, when it was an amusement park, with a couple of friends. As we left the park I mentioned to her that some poor soul got sick on Tilt-a-Wheel and spilled their purse contents on the ground. I saw the workers cleaning it up. "That was me" she said. We laughed so hard.
Thankfully she gets housing assistance and my mother still goes over once a week to visit and help her out. These past few years she has been so tired. She can't even seem to do a load of laundry.
I suspect that she is still using the pain pills she got when she had breast cancer about four years ago. My mother and I have tried to help her get to the bottom of her lethargy. But she doesn't seem to want to get well.
Ever since I have been doing animal communication, my telepathic skills have increased and with that came a lightening bolt of understanding into her psyche. One day I was looking at a picture of her and my mother together and I knew that she didn't want to get well. She liked being the way she was. Whether because" the devil you know is better than the devil you don't" or not, I can 't say.
Which brings me to my post of yesterday. Does Rich want to change? Right now, I don't believe so. He is my son and I love him , but God gave us all free will.
So I will keep praying knowing that I have the blood of a Godly mother and great-grandmother (whom I never met) in my veins. I will love Nancy and Rich as they are-just as God loves me.

"Put that on my mother's credit card"
Hello and welcome to my new blog!
I have heard it said that "your passion is your purpose", and if that is true, I will be a GREAT blogger!
My passion, is helping others with what I have learned (and in some cases am still learning!).
I am a mother of three sons-23, 21, and 20. The two older ones have been "challenging" to say the least.
I am an animal communicator (my website www.mykindredspirits.com),
speaker, teacher.
I believe in the power of positive thinking with the help of God and scripture. I believe that whatever circumstances we are given in life, is the "assignment" that God has handed us. It matters not what we are given, but what will we do with it?
Today I started out excited and happy. That ended when my oldest son (home for lunch), went to the door for another pizza delivery. Just the other night my husband and I were commenting that two area delivery services had been coming by almost daily for the past week!
The only time that has happened previously, has been when Rich has stolen my credit card number.
As I rushed to the door to ask the delivery guy if it was cash-Rich pushed me away and closed the door. He was out to his car when I yelled for him to come to the door.
Yes, he is up to his old tricks-it is my Visa number!
My husband and I hide our purse/wallet at the house. He must have found my latest spot.
I have decided to press charges when the bill comes.
Rich denies everything! We have lived like this for so long, it almost seems normal.
This is my story!
Carolyn
