Angels and Demons (?)-Part 1

If you were to poll one hundred people and ask them if they believe in angels, 95% would most likely say that they did. But if you took those same people and asked if they believed in demons
I am not sure what the response would be.
Purely from a scientific angle, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction". Demons would be those opposite of angels and therefore must exist.
The Bible is very clear, and demons are mentioned numerous times. Or did the demons mentioned in the Bible disappear in the time between when the Bible was written and now?
Eph. 2:2 calls Satan "the Prince of the air", "whose spirit is at work in those who are disobiedient".
Demons are the minions of Satan, just as angels are the helpers of God.
If you do NOT believe that they exist, how can you be on your guard against them?
This is Satan's greatest weapon! Unless we know that he exists and how he operates, how can we guard ourselves against him?
Pastor Bob Larson is a modern day exorcist. Check out his website www.boblarson.org
Just before halloween he did some exorcisms for the Sci Fi channel, which I watched.
I would say without a doubt, it would be hard to fake the things that I say in those four exorcisms.
In the years leading up to the capture of the BTK killer Dennis Rader, he wrote a taunting letter and mailed it to the police. Part of what he wrote was "I have a monster inside of me". I know that he did(does)have a monster inside of him. Voices in his head telling him what to do-those are DEMONS.
How do you know what thoughts are of God and what are from demon influence?
An easy way to tell is this-
Is it a loving, positive thought?
Or is it something that will hurt another person?
Galations 5:22-23, gives us the guidelines for the "fruit of the spirit".
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (NIV)
God is a god of love, light and forgiveness.
Satan is full of hate, darkness and revenge.
Balance your thoughts with this barometer to see where they are coming from.
